DENTAL CLINIC OUTREACH

FIRST GENERATION LAY DENTISTS

Alabaster Project

The picture above was taken in 2004 when Pastor Zak & King, with three others were trained as the first lay dentists. After seeing 10,000 patients since 2004, Pastor Zak & King have now trained a second group of lay dentists.

SECOND GENERATION LAY DENTISTS

Alabaster Project

The second group of lay dentists pictured above consisted of 1 Ghanaian – Ayuba Zakaria (not in the picture), 2 Cameroonians – Henri Tchatchoua & Bidias Didace, and 1 American – Ira McBee. Pastor Zak and King will be leaving for Cameroon in November to help Henri and Bidias get their dental clinic outreach established in Yaounde, Cameroon. We are ready to train other missionaries.

At the top of the next column is a picture of the dental team including all the trainees doing an outreach in the village of Nwodua. It was an exciting time as well as a very serious time for the trainees.

DISCIPLESHIP

Two of the discipleship groups that we have started (one at Moglaa and one at Fooshegu) have in turn started new disciple groups on their own. Truly they are moving from “Jerusalem” to “Judea”.

WHAT A TEAM!

Since arriving in Ghana over 10 years ago, we have hosted many short term teams. Last August, 2008, we hosted one of those very special teams. Two separate churches united as one team to minister the gospel in Tamale, Ghana (John 17:21). The power of unity was seen as Pastor Chuck Peterman, senior pastor of Creekside Christian Church (Jacksonville, FL), ministered to 80 pastors and lay leaders from 15 churches that attended his conference. The conference participants were all so excited they asked them to come back to minister in the future.

The team was led by Ryan Peterman, youth minister of the Family Church (Gainesville, FL). The team participated in all the discipleship classes as well as the dental and eye clinics. It was a joy to host Chuck, Ryan, Stacy and Sarah.
