Effective as of this newsletter we have changed our email address to:alabasterproject@gmail.com

EYE CLINIC

The patient shown below came to our eye clinic two years ago and after examining his eyes, he received the glasses he is wearing.

Alabaster Project

He returned this year for a check-up and received a new pair of glasses to help him see even better. The picture below shows him with his new prescription.

Alabaster Project

He was very, very happy and appreciative because without the glasses he is not able to work and earn a living.

AUGUSTINE GOING TO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

Augustine is a nineteen year who lost both mother and father and as a result came to live us. He has left for senior secondary school (high school). He is in a boarding school. Pray for Augustine as he endeavors to finish high school with hopes of going to a university.

JOSEPH

Alabaster Project

The newest member of our family is Joseph. Joseph is a nineteen year old young man who is a believer. His father and mother are both Muslims. He has a zeal to serve God. He has moved to Bethany Village to live with us. He is illiterate and we are hoping to educate him, give him a vocational skill and disciple him. Pray for Joseph that God’s will be done in his life.

FARM

Alabaster Project

This is a picture of John our farm manager chasing guinea fouls and sheep out of our farm. We have planted peanuts but the germination was not good so we have added corn. Pray that we have a good harvest this year because the number of people benefiting from the produce of the farm has increased.

GABRIEL AFFARE

Alabaster Project

It was delightful to have Gabriel Affare to come on a mission trip to Alabaster Project. Gabriel is a very hard working young man. He participated in the activities of Alabaster Project including: dental care, lawn care and discipleship. He was ready and willing to assist in everything and in every way. May God bless Gabriel as he continues to serve the Lord with gladness.

MOUNT PARAN TEAM

Alabaster Project

We hosted a team of ladies (Lisa Smith, Lois Dutton, Sandra Crayton, Susan Darnell, and Stacy Abernathy) from Mount Paran. One of the highlights of the visit was their trip to Blisinga. The church at Blisinga is a very young church and the visit really meant a lot to the members. The team ministered to the women and children through a medical outreach. We are sure that they will never forget the special treatment they received from the team as they ministered in prayer and encouragement in addition to the medical outreach. It was truly a testimony to the goodness of God.

VOCATIONAL SCHOOL NEEDS A ROOF

Alabaster Project

In 2006, we began construction on a three story vocational school which is to be used for teaching vocations and providing living accommodations for new converts while they are learning to support themselves and make a living. We were able to get as far as the picture below with the funds that were available. In 2007 we wrote a proposal to complete the first floor at an amount of $50,000. We have waited on the Lord to provide in His timing. The need for this facility has increased in the last 3 years and it clear that it is a major priority in the ministry. A vital part of the ministry will be a Discipleship School to disciple new converts and to provide training for lay workers as they minister to the surrounding villages and communities. This facility will also be used to train missionaries from other nations, who will be ministering in North Africa.

We are including this need in this newsletter trusting the Lord to speak to someone who is able to help us complete the building for the Vocational School. More details can be obtained from Phil Allen at pallen@ece.gatech.edu.
