SECOND LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
The Second Leadership Conference hosted by Alabaster Project Ministries was held at Bethany Village and 83 pastors and lay leaders attended from 12 villages representing 8 denominations. Alabaster Project Ministries being a non-denominational, works with and among all the congregations of Christians. The speakers were Dr. T.V. Thomas of the Centre for Evangelism & World Mission (Saskatchewan, Canada), along with Pastor and Evangelist Eldon Thompson (Ontario, Canada). The attendance actually doubled the number of participants of the First Leadership Conference. The local church leaders were convicted and challenged to share the gospel of Jesus with their fellow tribesmen.
VOCATIONAL SCHOOL
The vocational school is doing well. We have received some donations of cloth and yarn for the sewing and crocheting/knitting classes. We will need more donations in the very near future. We wish to thank those individuals who have contributed thus far. What a blessing it has been for the school.
The girls are improving daily. Previous picture: The girls are shown crocheting baby blankets. Please pray for the students: Mariam I, Mariam II, and Amishaw. Life as they have known it is changing completely. With a vocational skill and better hygiene they will surely make an impact in their communities. Not all are believers, please pray that Christ will be accepted. WE ARE STILL BELIEVING GOD FOR THE FUNDING TO COMPLETE THE VOCATIONAL SCHOOL BEFORE THE END OF THE YEAR.
DR. ZACH STEARNS
Dr. Stearns, Joan (his wife) and his entire family (Zackary & girlfriend, Sarah, and Evans) along with surgical nurse, Kathy Leslie have returned to Ghana again to care for the sick and needy. This trip was very timely and so many people received life saving medical treatment. During this trip they visited a handicap school and an orphanage. The head principal of the handicap school stated that this was the first time that anyone has ever offered medical services to the handicap students. May God continue to bless the Stearns and the Leslie family for giving into the kingdom of God.
PAM’S COTTAGE
Pam’s Cottage is ready for visitors and short term teams. We only need to install a septic tank, and purchase furniture.
The Cottage is identical to Brian’s Cottage also located at Bethany Village. May God bless Bill & Ramona Pendle and all who have given so freely for this dream to become a reality.
“BABY WUNPINI”
Pastor Zak and Hannah have a new addition to their family. We welcomed Baby Wunpini (meaning “God’s gift”) Joshua Amidu into our family on September 3, 2007. He is a handsome baby who is quite content to eat and sleep.
DRAINS
Construction of drains to improve drainage in Bethany Village is underway. The heavy rains we have experienced this year and previous years has caused erosion to some parts of Bethany Village. These drains will help stop further erosion.
FARMING PROJECTS
The Lord has blessed us with 7 acres of land with irrigation. This year we have planted rice. Learning how to farm rice has been most interesting. We just prayed and asked God for wisdom.
Earlier this year we planted 13 acres of peanuts. Well the peanut harvest was great. Now we need a lot of sunshine to dry the peanuts and at the same time we need rain for the rice farm. Our God is the Great God above all gods. Yesterday the sun shone here at Bethany Village to dry the peanuts and it poured down rain at Botanga where the rice farm is located! Hallelujah!!!! The rice farm is located approximately 10 miles from Bethany Village.
